One Potato, Two Potato

One Potato, Two Potato

March 12, 2008

Do something for us, will you? Just for a second, pull your scarf down a few inches and admit that spring is just around the corner. See? The warmer weather approaches, and with it, blooming flowers and the nearly universal urge to spruce up and freshen your nest.

The kitchen is always a great place to start and we’ve got two reasons why: because just a few high-impact purchases will allow you to reinvent your tabletop, and because you can find everything you need at Three Potato Four. Design industry veterans and New York ex-pats Janet Morales and Stu Eli founded this inspired online boutique as a way to share their collectors’ spirits with the rest of us. And we’re so glad they did…

We adore these robin’s egg blue salad plates in either “Bird on a Branch” or “Bird’s Nest Blue” designs. They’re a perfect way to carry a timeless touch of spring to your table, and their vivid hues and twig-inspired edging are hearty enough to handle your microwave or dishwasher.

If the pastoral isn’t quite your speed, prepare to have your engines revved by Snowden Flood’s “Urban Landscapes” collection. Electric pink “Motorway” is one of six ceramic bone china dinner plates in the collection, which also features “Pylons” and “Phone Lines,” among others. Each rendered in a single brilliant color, they’re a wonderful reminder that not all beauty is derived from nature.

And because no accessory need function without a little whimsy, we’re extra fond of these 100% cotton tea towels, depicting either teacups or lovingly labeled kitchen utensils, with accents in bright sunny yellow.

Of course the Three Potato Four shop has scads more to offer, and we highly recommend a lazy hour or two spent filling your virtual cart with their carefully selected paper goods, prints, accessories and goodies for the kids.

You do remember what comes after “seven potato,” right? More!
